The Accounting major prepares graduates for employment in accounting, bookkeeping, and general administrative positions in private, public, not-for-profit, and governmental agencies. Graduates gain the skills necessary to pursue a range of opportunities, including: loan counselor, insurance clerk, personal financial advisor, bill collector, accounts receivable or payable specialist, and more.
This program integrates a broad background in business administration with a thorough understanding of accounting concepts and theory, as well as hands-on training in computerized accounting. Students will learn essentials for keeping an organization solid, including how to analyze transactions, prepare financial statements, conduct cost revenue analysis, and maintain internal controls.
