Pioneer Passages
Pioneer Passages is published by Pioneer Pacific College. This publication represents not only writing students, but serves as an opportunity for all students at all levels of study to view their work in an official college format beyond the walls of the classroom. Faculty nominate exceptional student writing in any field of study to our editorial staff. This staff considers the nominated works for inclusion in an upcoming issue of the journal. Pioneer Passages is a collection of student writing that is judged to have exceptional value representing excellent work in any field of study.
Of secondary importance, Pioneer Passages serves as an avenue for faculty writing. Like our students, the Pioneer Pacific College faculty regularly express new thinking and creative ideas. Capturing these expressions in electronic format to share with other faculty and our students is an important aspect of faculty development and professional courtesy.
Life passages are particularly important to career college students. During college, students strive to change, accommodate new roles and people, assume rigorous responsibilities, and create balancing acts that allow them to reach professional goals. In that same spirit, Pioneer Passages strives to involve students who symbolize the efforts to create a better life for themselves. This online journal is an embodiment of their passages from college students to professionals.
